SRZ (Skid Row Zine) is a collaboration between Skid Row neighborhood artists with support from local artists, Tracy Park and Ivy Pochoda. SRZ came together with the help of the Lamp Arts Program, helmed by arts coordinator Hayk Makhmuryan, which offers a safe and nurturing place for creative self-expression to a diverse population of individuals who are homeless, extremely low income and/or living with a mental illness. The program encourages long-term participation as artists develop their individual voices and build a healthy community together and make creativity a continuous, restorative part of their lives.
SRZ is a biannual publication and the parent publication of individual artist’s zines that are created with the help of the Lamp Arts Program. For more information or to receive copies of any zine featured on this site, please email skidrowzine@gmail.com.
